Due to the strong current, this was the fastest crossing Garfield has ever made. 500 nautical Miles from Suriname to Tobago with an average speed of 6.4 knots! Not bad for such a big and lazy cat! When we enter the Man of War Bay around noon on December 30th, we have officially arrived in the Caribbean. We are very impressed by the greenery that surrounds the bay. In addition, a lovely white sandy beach on the edge of our anchorage. Big promises for the upcoming time!
We celebrate New Years Eve onboard Faros with several other boats from all over the world. It is amazing how diverse the sailing community is and how easy it is to make new friends. We share different traditions from each of our cultures. An unforgettable night. The following days we spent snorkeling and barbecueing together.
